Exercise is one of the most common and most beneficial activities for an individual. It enables people to get and stay healthy along with improving their appearance. With exercise people can improve strength, coordination, endurance and their self esteem and emotional state.
There are three main types of exercise; resistance and strength training, cardio and stretching. Resistance and strength training includes exercises that build muscle. These exercises include lifting weights, and doing pushups, pullups and dips. Cardio exercise mainly builds endurance and burns fat, such as running and swimming. The last form of exercise is stretching which enables people to improve posture and flexibility such as yoga.

Running is the most common and arguably the best cardio workout you can do. This workout and form of exercise is very simple due to the fact that it doesn’t require any equipment or complex procedures. All you need is a pair of running shoes and you’re able to start. During this workout, you usually do a warm up jog that lasts for 5 minutes. Then you begin you’re workout that usually lasts for 30 minutes to an hour. The types of running you can do are jogging which is a light and easy form of running. Next is distance which includes running 1-5 miles during the workout. Then there is cross country which can be about 2-5 miles on hilly, muddy and/or woodland terrain. Finally there is short distance which is running very fast for about 1/2 to 1 mile. Stretching and jogging are the ways to warm up before the workout.
The next exercise is swimming. Swimming consists of moving through water in a pool. This is also a great strengthening workout. During this workout an individual swims in water for about 250-400 meters as a warmup and then 2000 or more meters for the regular workout. When swimming you usually do a few types of swimming techniques such as the breaststroke, and backstroke.
Power walking is among the best cardio workouts around. This cardio routine is the most convenient and easiest form of cardio exercise. This is so convenient and easy that even senior citizens can do this. Walking is great because it builds endurance and speed. This form of exerccise burns fat and increases the heart rate as well. During the workout you usually walk at a moderate pace for 5-10 minutes and then walk as fast as you can to the point where you reach maximum heart rate. This workout usually lasts for about 30 minutes to an hour.
Pilates is another great workout and exercise routine, and you can get a great cardio pilates workout by just keeping the pace elevated. Pilates workouts are used to improve balance, coordination, build strength and burn fat. This form of exercise has workouts with weights and a mat. During this workout a person lifts weights and does general aerobic exercise. The workout should lasts at least an hour for maximum cardio health benefits.
